Good Morning & Happy June - Miss seeing all of you! 


The goal is to keep learning going at home.  I know this is not our usual routine, but we are all going to "Give it our Best".  This is something the kids hear from me in class regularly and it still applies to work at home.  That way we can work together to help your children learn at home.

I am doing this for two reasons. 1. I want everyone to continue to learn without being overwhelmed. We are ALL trying our best and I hope that this makes Week 2 a little less stressful. This week the students will continue to learn skills & strategies that are utilized with Non-Fiction text.  These skills and strategies include:

identifying text features of non-fiction books, understanding and identifying the author's purpose, and writing complete sentences to respond to a question. 

Skills Assessment Test (Reading Skill)

       The next Reading Test on this skill will be next week.   

You can help your child prepare for this by reading with them on a regular basis.  A book on your child's level will be sent home each Wednesday.  Please have your child read this book out loud to you.

Math

This week we are going to continue finding 3-digit quotients using the standard algorithm and the area model.  We will also use this skill to assist with solving word problems. Finally, we will also review converting measurements which will be a skill that is on the Unit 3 test.  
The next math quiz will be on Fri., March 13th.
